Wind Storms and Hot Tubs

Monday routine goes like this: school, track practice until 5, eat dinner, go to FHE, then hot tub at Aubrey's house, finally to bed.  We love Monday's for this reason only! Hot water and cold air, nothing better.  We started in January when it was oh so cold outside, the warmest it would get was 20 degrees, and now it's up to 40!  WOW!  We would trapse through the snow and hop in the tub.  It's a joy now to fun to the tub in grass and enjoy the warmth inside and out.  I especially enjoy this after a long day of snowboarding.  Today was a little difficult because of the wind storms.  They closed a highway close to town and I-15 because the gust were up to 70mph.  My grandmother in Utah said it was blowing semi's over on the highway!  But we withstood the storm and went anyways, wood chips in the tub and all.  We had a great time!  When I grow up, listen to me making goals of adult life!, I want a hot tub at my house.  Hours of pain and misery washed away in hot water.... ahhhh.

Today was my last Monday coaching middle school track.  I love my team and I have so much fun with them.  One girl I especially have to word hard with.  She is born with amazing natural talent and blows everyone out of the water when she runs.  She's loosing her passion for beating everyone though.  So I'm trying my best to motivate her and push her.  I also take time to listen to her so I can help her work through mental blocks. So far it seems to be improving, but she's a great girl that I previously thought I could never connect with and now I just adore her.  Coaching is great!  I coach on a great track with a great co-coach, Ben Lenz.  We work hard to help our kids get better and have fun while doing it.  I'm excited for Wenesday, which is Districs in Ririe.  Now, you would think with such a great passion for track, and growing up on really nice facilities, we would have a great track. But in all actuality, it looks like this....

Most of the season we have spend running on the road and in the parking lot because the snow took forever to melt!  Now, this is not our real track but looks pretty close.  I found it on google.com.  Even though I love track, I'm ready for the season to be over.  I also and so ready for school to be over, just like all of my students.  Next year will be awesome, this one will be fun to leave.  Just 18 more days!!  My students count for me.  I am excited for summer and the journey's to come.  Check tomorrow for more juicy details of my life! :)

April Happenings...

Suzi and I have a great routine on Sundays and we love it!  There is a house of guys in our ward that hosted Hot Chocolate Sunday's, and we would attend every week, when we could.  So, we started a little tradition of leaving their house with something extra.  The first week we took a pirate book that we really wanted to read.  We were attacked in the car as they tried to get it back, but thanks to a great driver, Aubrey, we made it away.  The second week we left with a camcorder and the boys attacked us to ruthlessly that we speed away with one boy on the car!  But he came away unscathed.  So now that it is summer, they host Root Beer Floats Sunday.  We left last week with a stapler.  They didn't even notice.  Now, because we are not thieves, we always return our borrowed product.  So we are waiting for them to notice the missing stapler before we head over there tonight.  It's always fun and in good games.  This week we have a little something special planned for the event, which includes us leaving with nothing.  I'll update you later.

Also, after we leave Root Beer Sunday, we go over to another house in our ward and play games.  This past week we walked in late and everyone was already started, so the upstairs of the house was empty.  Suzi decided to re-arrange their furniture.  We had a great time until Tyler caught us!
This is as far as we got changing the furniture at Jonnie's house.  We should be older than pranking, but really it's too fun.  And as my roommates in college said, "Don't leave Megan alone with the furniture bc when you come back it will be different!"

For fhe one night we had an International Food Night with a progressive dinner.  It was so much fun!  One side of the church was Mexican and the other was Italian.  We were asked to make food to donate to the cause, so we decided that an Italian appetizer can't be too hard!  Well, I got sent home from school early one day because I was sick, I couldn't hardly talk!!  So I quickly made some Pepperoni roll-ups.  They are supposed to be an Italian appetizer and they are different from pizza so it was delicious.  Everyone even commented on them and they had no idea I made them!  On top of that, I couldn't talk to tell them.  Haha.
Suzi helped top them with spaghetti sauce and cheese! YUMMY stuff! :)  Basically crussants and garlic salt, onion powder, and some pepperoni and cheese rolled up.  Bake for the regular 12 min and top! Great stuff.

I also wanted to include a picture of the chocolates my student gave me for Valentine's day.  I haven't finished them yet so here they are! :)  His name is Cooper and he's been smitten with my awesomeness for 3 years now, and his dad pushes him to do stuff like this.  He thinks it's funny, I think it's mean of his dad to do that!  But I got chocolates out of the deal, can't complain there!

FINALLY, I wanted to get to the heart of this post besides some usual updates....  I got a new hairstyle!  I've always wanted to try blone because everyone else does but I have a fear that I will look horrible as a blonde.  I'll be washed out and nasty.  So I finally took the plunge and with the help of my fabalous hairdresser, Chelsea, whom Suzi visit teaches (that's how we met her), I got my hair done.  Let me know if you like it or not.  I'm open to all suggestions. But a change is ALWAYS good!
Drum roll please..... da. da. da .da .da. da. da. da.

I have to include a picture of my fabalous amazing fun roommate, Suzi and I.  It wouldn't be an update on my life if I didn't!  The ward thinks that we are attached at the hip and if we show up somewhere without the other we get quizzed.  But it's fun to hang out, and nice to be separated for a while too. We just have too much fun together sometimes!  It's great to have a friend close to my age, the same place in life, and be able to still have fun.  I am so over the freshman stuff. haha.

A Blog a Day in May

I'm joining my best friend Shelly Schloegel in her blog a day in May challenge.  So hopefully you all don't get bored of hearing from me, but I'm taking the challenge!  This should be fun because it is my last month teaching this school year. Yep, the school board voted and cut of 5 days of our year because we haven't yet used a snow day! Exciting that for the first time teaching school, we get out in May.  So to catch up on my day late start of blogging, I will post two blogs today.  First blog:

Two weekends ago I had the opportunity to attend two of my friends weddings.  Well, on wedding and 2 receptions.  First was my good friend Tenna Frank now Anderson.  It was a beautiful and sweet ceremony.  Jared has two super cute boys that were at the wedding and Tenna's family is so sweet and fun.  I took Teralee with me because she also knows Tenna and we ran into one of my old college roommates, Lateesha Cook Stevens and her husband Mike.  It was great to sit with them at the dinner and catch up on life.  Such a great wedding with great advice!

Next was my good friend Danny.  He had always been a great guy and would come and play with the family in Utah over break because we were both home and bored!  He found and married a cute girl, whom is actually 2 years older than him.  Teralee and I stopped by their reception for a bit and it was fun.  I also was able to play with my family.  My sisters are so fun I love being able to spend time with them. And I always have a blast with my Mom, infact, we went shopping and she decided to buy some lawn chairs, we got out to the car and couldn't get them into the car! She was like, darn we might have to go and get the other car!  But I worked hard, and for a long time, and finally got them into the car!  It's really great my friends getting married so close to me that i can go see them and stay at my mom's house.

Murder Mystery Dinner

We hosted a murder mystery dinner party, called Roman Ruins. It was an absolute blast! I turned out to be the murder. Suzi was the town hussy. Briana was a thief. Aubrey and Brigham were involved in an affair. Everyone was plotting to kill the poet, that I eventually murdered. That is everyone but Suzi. It was fun that everyone was willing to dress up and play along. We had secrets to reveal and discussions and arguments on whom the murder was. For dinner we served coke ham. It was a delicious night and very fun! We will for sure be doing this again. Our next adventure is Lethal Luau.
