Camarae's Entertainment

Lately Camarae's new thing is to either make bubbles with her mouth or try to make noise by blowing air out through her mouth with her tongue out. I tried to get it on video but as soon as the camera came out she didn't want to do it as much anymore. But as soon as I put the camera down she was back to doing it full fledged. It has been about a week and a half since we've started on letting Camarae figure out how to go to sleep on her own. We've made some really good progress. We are now at the point to where we can put her in her bed and leave the room. Tonight was the first night of that and she was asleep within 15 minutes. It is so nice to be able to do this. It will be really nice when she will just go to sleep without any crying or screaming first. For now we are happy and excited about her going to sleep on her own. One thing that she likes to do while in bed is playing. She will make noises, play with her hands, and push herself up to the top left side of the crib. One night she had even turned herself around in a counter clockwise turn. She seems pretty proud of herself that she can move around a bit.
Last Saturday we tried the giving a bath in the sink. It is a lot more
work than what it is worth. I think we will stick to the showers until Camarae can sit up on her own for baths.

Tonight we made pizza for dinner so while I was working on the pizza Camarae sat in her bumbo seat and watched and jabbered. I thought I would take some pictures of her in her seat while she was still happy, it was getting close to bed time.

This weekend I'm going to be babysitting for Vicky and Jordan so that they can go to the temple. Matt will be on a field trip for one of his classes all weekend. So it will be me and five kids for Saturday. I'll have to take some pictures to document how the day goes. Then on Saturday night I get to go to Stake Conference by myself, I'll actually get to listen to the talks!

Do you know how to sleep?

Valentine's day has come and gone. For some of us, or all of us, that is a relief. In the slideshow I posted a couple of pictures of our Valentine's day goodies. Matt's gift was a movie date and Camarae will be with a babysitter. This was his gift because he loves movies and we haven't been to the movie theater in a long time.

Most of the pictures of Camarae are just snapshots of things we do around here. Can you tell if she likes her new snowsuit? I think that it might fit better next year, depending on how big she gets over this summer and fall, it is really big on her right now. Thank you mom for getting it though. I thought that the headband from Vicky was really cute and I put it on her to see if it fit and it did. I think she looks really cute with it on even though she doesn't have any hair. The pictures of her sleeping in the car were of the first time that she fell asleep in the car on her own. So I had to take a picture as proof that it can happen.

So last night we've started to let Camarae figure out how to go to sleep on her own. Without any rocking, bouncing, or a pacifier. We put her in bed when she was awake and happy and then 1 hour and a half later she had finally fallen asleep. After throwing up everything that she had eaten and having to change her clothes because she was soaking wet from throwing up. For the first hour she was throwing up about every five minutes because she was so mad that we were making her go to sleep on her own. Since we knew that she would do this we stayed in the room with her to clean her up and to make sure she didn't choke on the fluid that didn't make it out of her mouth which happened several times. After she finally fell asleep, on an empty growling stomach, she slept until 6 a.m. and then woke up to eat. After eating we had to start the whole process over. This time is was only an hour of crying and no throwing up to go to sleep. Morning nap was a different scenario. When I put her to bed for her morning nap she cried for an hour, throwing up again, and then I took her out to change her diaper and clean her up. Then I waited the half an hour keeping her awake the whole time we started the process over. This time she fell asleep within the first 15 minutes. So far she is still napping and has been asleep for almost 2 hours. The longest nap she has taken in a long time. I can't wait until she will go to sleep within the first 15 minutes or less every time. Needless to say I'm getting a lot of Suduko time in while I sit in the room with her. Wish us well with the sleep endeavors and enjoy your sleep! I envy all those who get to sleep more than 6 hours at a time. Hopefully that will change soon. We will keep you posted on how our sleeping endeavors go.

We love hearing from you all and seeing you on the webcam. Enjoy the pictures!

Mirror Fun

First of all I hope my sisters don't mind but I was ready for a new background so I downloaded a free one for the holiday's. I'll probably change the background every now and then. It is kind of fun and there are a lot of free backgrounds to choose from. Thanks Shelly for the website.

So this week I've put Camarae back in front of the mirror to see if she likes it. It has become one of her favorite things to do. So I decided to put up one of the pictures of her at the mirror. It was taken in the morning after I had gotten her dressed, as you can tell I'm not yet dressed for the day. Also, this week she decided that she wanted to sleep through the night (12-13 hrs. straight) at least for 4 nights in a row. Then on the weekend she decided that she didn't like that idea. Well it was fun while it lasted and I can't wait until it happens again.
Today while doing some tummy time on the floor she rolled over by herself. I don't even think she new what she was doing. I tried to see if she would do it again but she didn't. We will have to try again tomorrow to see what she does. Oh, the excitement of a little one!

So another first, today she fell asleep in the car going to and home from church! Boy, weren't we excited! Matt and I could actually have a conversation in the car. I think Matt enjoyed the quiet a whole bunch. It was a lot better than the screaming the whole 30+ minutes in the car.
These two pictures are just me messing around one day when I was getting her dressed. The front view shots I can't get them to rotate for the blog so that is why you get the side shot/angle. Camarae thought that it was pretty funny to have her onsie on her head.

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone!

Megan's First Post!!

Hey Everyone! my first official post! I wanted to let everyone know what kind of weather we have been getting here in Idaho. The pictures of the cars is what happened when I was only at the gym for 30 minutes!Well, I didn't have school last week except a 1/2 day Monday (we got sent home at 11 because of the weather) and then 45 min on Thursday. When we got to school Thursday they announced right before the first tardy bell rang, that the busses were turning around and picking the kids back up and taking them home! Crazy! But this week we were in all but yesterday because of 12 foot snow drifts. It just keeps snowing and snowing. I've been driving through a foot of snow sometimes because the city can't brush the roads fast enough. I took some shots on the camera to show you but they just don't do it justice. Some are from upstairs windows and that doesn't give the full effect either. Just imagine.... Since I've been back from Christmas break, it has snowed some everyday.

I also cut and colored my hair. So here is the new me!!
okay so I can't get the camera to work. Tonight I'll put the pictures on!!

Camarae and her shots

So today we went to the county health dept. and got Camarae started on her shots. She had 5 different immunizations within 3 shots. She only screamed and cried during the shots and as soon as they were over she stopped crying. We gave her some tylenol before we went home from the county dept. She fell asleep in the car(2:00) and then slept until 5:30 p.m. I think it was the tylenol that made her sleep that long. Then when she woke up and ate she fell back asleep an hour later. So I'm hoping that she will still sleep tonight when she is supposed to. Well we have to go back for some more shots next month. Hopefully the wait will not be as long as it was today. I didn't think there would be a long wait today with all of the snow that we got here from Thursday's snow storm. It sure does look pretty outside even though it got really cold again.

The pictures are of her bandaides from her shots. I thought that the crayon bandaides were cute. The picture of her with the burp cloth is her clutching onto the cloth. Lately this is something that she likes to do and then she sucks on the cloth for a while. Also in these pictures you can see a tear drop under her left eye. It looks like she is still thinking about the shots from earlier in the day.
