We welcomed a new addition to our family.  She was born at 2:46 pm (if you want to be exact) after spending only 7 hours at the hospital. The first hour was checking in and waiting for the Dr to start the induction process.  Six hours of 'labor' isn't so bad I suppose, especially when you have wonderful modern medicine :o)  At any rate, Danae Ryanne weighed 6 lb 11 oz and was 19 in long with lots of thick dark hair.  When the Dr laid her on my stomach the first thing she said was "oh she just peed on you"....  What a sweet girl. Little did I know that was just a pre-cursor of things to come.  Need I say more?

Noelle has been such a loving big sister.  Her first meeting with Danae at the hospital was uneventful and she hardly gave her a second look. She has, however, decided that her little sister is pretty neat and often gets excited when she sees her & tries to give her hugs and kisses.  And much to our dismay she often likes to push her in the swing and as a result managed to dump Danae out on her head.  Fortunate for Noelle she did not land on her head as well & I luckily recovered from my heart attack.

The last couple of weeks Danae has really begun to fill out. I think she might be a little chunk too. At her 2 week appt she weight 7 lb 6 oz and I think she is now weighing over 10 lbs easy. For the most part she's a pretty easy baby and we just think she's adorable.

These pics she's 14 days

Zoo time

One of the last things we did in May was go with my sisters to the zoo. My favorite was the bird show...so fun to watch the birds fly right over head (literally, my sister had one brush their wing against her ear) and do their "tricks". We also so the elephants, big cats, and after that Noelle was asleep so she missed the gorilla's, wolves, and on... It was a nice day and we had fun with the cousins. Just wish I had taken a few more pictures...
After the zoo we came home and had pulled pork sandwiches with corn on the cob.  Surprisingly Noelle really got the hang of eating the corn off the cob and really seemed to enjoy it.

Here she is talking to her cousin who is about 2 1/2 months old. She seems to like babies which gives us hope that she'll like her sister, who will be here in sometime in the next 8 days.  :o)

Field trip

My grandparents and I decided it would be a fun to take an excursion to see the copper mine and since entrance was free for the month of May we took advantage of the opportunity.  When we got to the mine we got out of the vehicle and just about blew away...it was soo windy up on the side of the mountain.  So we took refuge into the visitor center for a while and learned more about the mine.  In the meantime, Noelle found her entertainment in standing over the air vents and feeling the cold air blast in her face.  It was funny to watch her facial expressions. Oh she makes me laugh. But I digress.  We finally ventured back outside and luckily the  wind had died down so we were actually able to look down into the mine. Take a look see...the view over the railing is shown in the picture on the right.

The tire we're standing next to is from one of the pieces of equipment they use down in the mine...it amazing how large their equipment is.  We had fun and hope to have a few more field trips this summer.

Anniversary Celebration

Last mnth marked our 3 year anniversary. It's amazing what can happen in three years. Here we are with one adorable girl and another on the way. We've had a lot of fun times the past 3 years and am glad we're still going strong and adoring my honey just as much, if not more. So what did we do to celebrate you ask? Well, apparently this year we weren't all the adventurous or maybe it was just the lack of planning but we took a trip down to the city to see the new outdoor mall. It was fun to walk around and we got some fun pics of the little lady.

Afterwards, we met up with my sister who so kindly took Noelle for a few hours so we could go out for dinner. We decided to try one of the Diners, Drive-in's & Dives restaurants. It was a BBQ place that would definitely fall under the Dives category. The outside looked like an old run down building that couldn't possibly be a restaurant tucked back into an old neighborhood that felt abandoned. After dinner we decided that while we have a babysitter we should do something else. So we went in search for a mini golf course, found one but didn't end up playing. Instead we sat on a bench and people watched. Boring eh? I know but it was kind of entertaining given where we were. We then ended back at my sisters house with some ice cream, visited with them for a bit and called it a night. Maybe number 4 we'll actually plan some kind of activity :o)
