Our First 5k

Sabrina and I decided to try out running as a sport and way to get in shape. Fortunately Sabrina has done really well and has lost a few inches and is a good runner. I (Desaray) have found out, or confirmed really, that running is not one of my talents. But I still enjoyed the race and am looking forward to running another 5k. Thus said, Sabrina and I ran our first 5k on Saturday June 21st. It was in Salt Lake and the weather was perfect. We checked in at about 6:45 or 7:00 am and then stretched and got ready for the race. Little speed demon Sabrina finished the race in under 30 minutes, so she ran about 10 min miles. Me on the other hand finished in under 34 minutes, about an 11 minute mile. I want to keep running and hopefully shed a few minutes off my time. I think that would be great. Guess I better get hitting the pavement again. :o) (PS. We'll post pictures as soon as Sabrina takes them off the camera)

Concert Time

This past week Matt and I enjoyed going to two nights out of the three of the Wal-Mart shareholders concerts. We got to see Lifehouse, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, and Keith Urban. The best night, in my opinion was the last night with Carrie and Keith. We were able to find a babysitter for both nights so that we didn't have to take Camarae with us. We traded babysitting services with Vicky and Jordan for the first night while we watched their two the second night. Then Jordan graciously said he would watch Camarae on Thursday night too since Vicky was going on Thursday night to the concerts, thanks Jordan.

On Thursday night between Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban they were throwing t-shirts into the audience. One of the guys throwing the t-shirts came over our direction and started to throw the shirt. I told Matt to get ready to catch it because it looked like it was coming towards us. Right at the last minute Matt stood up at put his left hand in the air, he is right handed, and caught the t-shirt. I was so excited. We had never won anything at a concert before. It ended up being a Keith Urban t-shirt. Here is a picture of the shirt that Matt gets to wear now as a souvenir of our concert night.

Here are some pictures and videos of parts of the songs from the concerts that we enjoyed. The first is Lifehouse singing Hanging by a Moment, the second is Taylor Swift singing Our Song, the third is Carrie Underwood singing Before He Cheats , and last is Keith Urban singing Stupid Boy.

On All Fours

Here are a couple of little clips of what Camarae is working on now. They are each about 30 seconds long. Watch at your own pleasure. She is doing much better with this now even though there is not any crawling going on yet.

For those who are wondering she is not a big thumb sucker she only sucks her thumb when she is tired. Also, she doesn't normally wear a bib around the house all day. She was just wearing a white shirt and I was trying to get her to drink her prune juice that had her iron drops in the juice. I didn't want the prune juice that didn't make it in her mouth on her white shirt.

New Dresses

So I found Camarae some new dresses the other day and I thought that they were so cute that I needed to share them with you all.

Just this weekend Camarae has been exploring with trying to get up from her belly to her knees or just pulling her body off of the floor like in a push-up position and then trying to move forward or backwards. If she keeps this up she might be crawling soon.

Today I played the organ for sacrament meeting. I tried to go to the building a couple of times this week so that I could practice for today especially the feet pedals. Each time I went there was nobody there that had a key to unlock the organ so that I could practice it. So I didn't play the pedals today but had the "cheat" button on where the keys that I play will sound like the pedals are being played. I thought that I did pretty well considering that I haven't played the organ in 8 years. The music leader said I did well and that they will be using me more in the future. She even asked if I would accompany for someone next month for a special musical number.

We are excited to be able to visit family this summer and for Carley, Charley, and Nate to be moving here at the end of the month. Yay, for summer and for family!
